I’m not going to claim that one was easy though. I had to ride 22.4 miles today to ensure I’d go over the 100 mile mark for the week. I rode 6 days this week and today I felt like my legs could have gone a lot further.
Here’s how the bike miles ran down today.
8.5 miles from home to Arctic
5.7 miles from Arctic to KW
8.2 miles from KW to home.
OK, my but hurts again. LOL.
That makes 22.4 for today, 105 for the week, and 193.9 grand total. I Rock!

Even the most experienced riders on the Trans America Trail take a day off every now and then. So no big deal right? OK, maybe I feel a little guilty but I did ride Wednesday and Thursday. I did the standard 16.4 miles each of those days. Today I started work at 5:00am and wimped out this afternoon.
Here’s my totals:
82.6 for the week.
171.5 over all.
I’ll have to do 17.4 miles tomarrow to make my goal of 100 miles per week. It might happen.

There ya go. To and from KW equals another 16.4 miles.
I did actually get rained on this time. Not just sprinkles but real rain. Now I’m gonna have to figure out what to do for rain gear. I hope summer isn’t over.
Total this week - 49.8
Grand Total - 138.7

As most everyone knows by now, If I put 16.4 miles down it’s to and from work at KW.
It was uneventful except that it was my first long ride with no extra padding. I did it with just the padding on the seat. Now that I’m not sore this morning I guess that means my butt problems are behind me.
Total mile so far 122.3
I think I’m gonna have to set a tougher goal too. That ride made my goal of 5 days a week for the second week in a row. It was day 14 with 10 of them including riding the bike.
NEW GOAL - 100 miles a week.
That should be one I have to work at.

With a fierce determination previously only observed in the lioness protecting her cubs Dave pressed on through torrential rains, driven on by the suns rapid plunge beneath the horizon to the west, shattering the century mark.
OK, so it was only a couple of sprinkles and I did make it home before sun set. The point is I passed 100 miles on a bicycle since I decided to take on this challenge of riding coast to coast on a bike. Besides, I’m the author. I can embellish a little, right?
It was a long day. I left home as soon as it was light enough to safely ride (6:10am). I rode 8.5 miles to work at the ice house. Then at the end of the day I rode home arriving at 8:01pm for a total of 17 miles today and grand total of 105.9 since this adventure started.
